My guest this week is Dean Meuller, bassman from Portland Oregon's The Insomniacs. Their formula: a mix of blues, swing, jump, and roots rock. Their music is a perfect soundtrack to high summer; Hot, sweaty weather, barbecues, ice cold beers. Mmm-hmm.... Download the show's MP3 FILE here. You can visit The Insomniacs on their Myspace page. You can purchase their music at: Amazon.com
Check out this episode of digivegas to hear my conversation with Dean, and hear tracks off their new CD At Least I'm Not With You.

DigiVegas podsafe Showcase 014
Some people have complained that they don't trust that their email address (which is required in order for your vote to count) won't be used for spamming purposes. Trust me. I've been with Podcast Alley since February 2006, and NOT ONCE has anyone's email been used by them for anything other than vote verification purposes. It's totally safe. That's why I use them.

DigiVegas 143 - Acidic
It took a few weeks, but I finally got 'em on the show, Acidic, from Los Angeles. Mike, Ted and Matt sat down with me and, well... they just kind of took off and stole the show. I'll bet that's what they do live too. It has been written that one simply MUST see them live (no kidding...). They blend "catchy, memorable songs, compelling vocals, and power riffs that make you want to floor it if you're driving!" They just released their debut CD, Ironic Dreams a few weeks ago. You want it, you need this album. Turn it up to eleven!

Ironic Dreams can be purchased at: CD Baby

DigiVegas 142 - Lisa Bianco
My guest this week is Lisa Bianco, from NYC. Her music is a blend of alternative, guitar rock, and pure punk aggression. Finding a balance between the visceral and intellectual is one of the trickiest things to pull off in music, but Lisa Bianco manages to do just that. On her new album, Post-Data, She takes on the new and constantly evolving relationship between people and a data-saturated world, searching for the personal connection that breathes life into humanity…and music.
Interesting. That same technology which saturates us with data, and in one sense disconnects us from one another, in this case helps us to connect across a continent, something we never would have been able to do without that technology/data. Hmm.. I guess it's a double-edged sword, of sorts.
Music and conversation with Lisa Bianco, here on DigiVegas.
