Joining me this episode are Evan Page, Christian Brady, and Jason Walker of the Las Vegas band The Screaming MeeMees. We spin tunes off their new EP, The Chronicles Part IV, talk about hockey, and bag on Allanis Morissette. Well, I do the bagging.... Evan tries to stickup for her, being a fellow Canadian and all...

Digivegas 153 - Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats

Bombastic, funky, sexy and loud, Chad Smith (drummer of Red Hot Chili Peppers & Chickenfoot) has a new band! Together with guitar star Jeff Kollman, multi-faceted keyboardist Ed Roth, and Motor City bass ace Kevin Chown. they comprise what is easily one of the most interesting and unpredictable instrumental bands to come along in years. Their sound fusies together styles as diverse as classic rock, old school funk, punk, and 70’s R&B.

I was able to get them together for a conference call and talk about the formation of the band, their shared philosophies on music, and recording of the debut CD, Meet The Meatbats.

This is a two part interview:

Digivegas 152 - Doop and The Inside Outlaws

It's nice to keep in touch with all the bands I've interviewed over the years. Don Duprie emailed me a week or so ago to tell me about the release of his new CD, Everett Belcher. Naturally, we just had to get him on the show again. (check out his first appearance on the show on episode 095)
It seems perfectly appropriate that this episode be posted on Labor Day. As Doop's own bio says: "Detroit has always been known for its thriving music scene and diverse musical artists... the city has consistently produced music that has captured the hard-working-harder-playing essence of the “Motor City.”

Embodying this hard-working spirit is singer-songwriter Don “Doop” Duprie and The Inside Outlaws... Doop now conveys that same work ethic and honesty in all aspects of his musical career as a full-time singer/songwriter..."

Check out our conversation, as well as tracks of the new album on this episode of Digivegas!
