DVI Podcast 093 - Postmark Twain

My guest this week is Jim Gaven (center, with acoustic) from Postmark Twain, from Hamilton, NJ. They received much acclaim and created a big buzz with their first release Timing Is Everything in 2006. In December 2007 they released their follow up EP, “Cause and Effect”: a five song voyage about letting go, starting over, and moving on. After a year of solid songwriting, full band rehearsals, and the finishing touches of mastering engineer Michael Fossenkemper (Matisyahu, Over It, The Spill Canvas), Postmark Twain is looking forward with confidence, ready to gain new fans and expand its influence to anyone and everyone along the way.

Jim joins us vie skype and shares with us more detailed, inside information on the formation of the band, and what they will be up to this summer. He also has a few copies of Timing Is Everythig to give away to the audience, as well as a couple hand-made CD's of his solo work.

Call the DigiVegas Skype-In line at 702-425-3263. Leave us a message, tell us you want it, and don't forget to leave your mailing address. It's really that easy.

You can check out the band at their website, or on their myspace page.

DVI Podcast 082 - Whiskey Sournotes

***EXPLICIT CONTENT***

They are rude, they are crude, and sometimes vulgar. The Whiskey Sournotes say and play what others only dare think...but not out loud. My guest this week is Leggolambe, Gruesome leader of the band. If you are anywhere near one who is faint of heart, I suggest you insert your earbuds, or don your earphones for this one, but only for the music. Lambe is a real sweetheart deep down inside.

Elijah Drop Your Gun (And Grab A Bat!) DVI Podcast 078 - Mieka Pauley

Singing The National Anthem at Fenway has just got to be the biggest thrill a singer can have. (OK, insert your favorite stadium in there then...) I had plenty of other pictures to choose from, but when I saw this one, I couldn't resist.

My guest this week is indie singer/songwriter Mieka Pauley, from Cambridge Massachusetts. Mieka follows her own vision for her music with her soul / blues / rock / acoustic / alternative style. She is the winner of the first ever Starbucks Emerging Artist Award, the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Showcase and the Rock Boat / BMI Song Contest. She has played more than 700 live club, festival and college shows criss-crossing the country in the past five years. Her new album, Elijah Drop Your Gun, was released independently by Mieka in November of 2007, and was entirely funded by fans.

Check out one of her most recent Myspace Blog entries, where she has a link for you to vote for her. She is nominated for Best Female Performer in the Campus Activities Magazine Reader's Choice Awards.

Check her out at her MYSPACE PAGE.

You can purchase Elijah Drop Your Gun at her Web Site.
