Too Much & Too Lovely ---DVI Podcast 083 --- Alyse Black

Alyse Black

My guest this week is Alyse Black, of Austin TX, formerly of Seattle WA. Alyse combines jazz sensibilities with a pop sound to create sensual music that is winning the hearts of fans across many genres. Alyse’s voice has been described as a cross between the voices of Tori Amos and Norah Jones. Because Alyse’s major influences run the gamut from Billie Holiday to Tom Waits, the tracks of her debut CD “Too Much & Too Lovely” are quickly thought of as quirky and sultry all at the same time.

Check out the show by downloading the MP3 FILE here, or go to www.digivegas.com to stream it.

DVI Podcast 082 - Whiskey Sournotes

***EXPLICIT CONTENT***

They are rude, they are crude, and sometimes vulgar. The Whiskey Sournotes say and play what others only dare think...but not out loud. My guest this week is Leggolambe, Gruesome leader of the band. If you are anywhere near one who is faint of heart, I suggest you insert your earbuds, or don your earphones for this one, but only for the music. Lambe is a real sweetheart deep down inside.

You can download the show's MP3 FILE right here.

Rocktronica From The UK...DVI Podcast 079 - .Sub

My guests this week are UK band .Sub, from Norwich. At the moment, they are touring the US. If you happen to be in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, or Phoenix this weekend, please go see them. Check out their MYSPACE PAGE for venues, dates and times.

Their music is described as "rocktronica". What does that mean? Well, let's let some of their reviewers explain:

"...atmospheric guitar trio .sub sound like Joy Division and Mogwai scrapping over who can sound the most epic" : (NME)

"Their ability to switch seamlessly between crunching rock riffs and fragile piano-led ballads is admirable, and musically they're incredibly sound." : (Play Magazine)

"Gig-goers can expect the use of samples, luscious arrangements, enhanced only by their amazing and awe-inspiring 'Explosions In The Sky' style guitar soundscapes." : (WombatWombat)

“Imagine if Ian Curtis fronted Radiohead and Brian Eno produced it and you're coming somewhere close to their sound.” : (Concrete Magazine)

You can download the show's MP3 FILE here.

Their music can be purchased thru: .Sub
